Memorial experiences

so we finished our memorial ... when we got to the conclusion, one elder was asked to say cocncluding words... he got on the platform to read a letter from our branch office:.

"dear brothers an sisters, we are happy we were able to celebrate memorial, blah blah, especially, we are happy there were so many new ones in the audience ...." this all was read from a letter printed several day ago ... so i think our local bethel is kind of a prophet - knowing ahead of time, there will be "many new ones" in the audience .... your experiences?.

Hey, whats wrong with Smurfs???

i was baptized in early 90s and live in eastern europe.. from your comments i noticed, that some time in the past jws had a problem with smurfs... like being afraid of or avoiding ... i never heard anything about that in my dub life... .

so is there some story behind that?

did you play with smurfs as kids?

Most stupid blames on Satan....

in our kh broke down the heating system this week, the weather is pretty warm now, so it was just a little bit colder than usually inside during todays meeting ..... and the speaker today during the public talk mentioned: we are happy you came, no matter satan is testing your loyallty by breaking our boiler ..... would you believe it?

if it was satan who is to blame for, do you think jehopvah will send some angels to fix it?.

have you also heard something really stupid being blamed on satan????

Today at the meeting we got a gift from Jehovah!

today at the meeting we were told by the co, that we got a gift three months ago!

the gift we got is the one more free evening weekly, because of the new meeting arrangement.

this gift was given to us by jehovah through faithfull an discreet slave.

my guess: 30%.

Ever got counseled for your haircut?

i allway wore very short "military" style haircut.

allways was viewed as a bad association by dubs, once one dub told me directly: well i think your hair is rather to short brother!

i told him i dont think so and left.

I was first time at the elections!!!

in my country (eastern europe) we had elections (for the parliament members) recently, and i was first time in my life taking part in it.

(after 17 years in jw i am fading out, but becouse of my wife and son i do it step by step) .

i became jw after my high school, so never had a chance to go to the elections, elders were explaining me "we do not vote at the elections, becouse we voted for jah already..." it did not make any sense to me, but everybody in jw was saying the same thing, so i did not question the issue .... after 17 years i got to the point to see that to make no statement on political issues is actually also a statement (just irresponsible...).

How can I help my wife to get out

i am fading out after 18 years in jw cult (pioneer, ms, elder etc ...).

my wife was born in jw family, very strong family bonds, very loyal to jw.

at home we can talk pretty open, but she is so blindfolded, so loyal, not willing to admitt jw could be totally wrong... is there any chance to help her step by step?
